Two Day Fluid Art Retreat in Dorset

Sandyholme, Beach Road, Studland

Fri 11th (4pm) - Sun 13th (12pm) October 2024

It is with great excitement that we are announcing our two day fluid art retreat in Dorset. We wanted to create an event to help inspire you, to meet other like minded creatives AND most importantly, to help you grow as an artist. Over the two days, there will be inspirational talks and creative workshops. We will be delving into the wonderfully complex world of colour theory and how to mix custom colours. Our creative workshops will give you hands on experience to develop your skills in ‘pouring with intention’ and there will be a marketing talk with practical advice to help you reach new audiences with your art. We want you to bring in some of your work so we can discuss it as a group and give you constructive feedback as we know that being an artist can be quite a isolating experience. We hope this event will be the start of  a great community of like minded artists.

Our Two Day Fluid Art Retreat In Dorset Includes:
  • Meet & greet reception with bubbly and a chance to share your artwork
  • 2 talks/demonstrations; “Pouring with intention” & “Colour theory”
  • 2 practical workshops plus a ‘your choice’ workshop
  • Marketing talk. How to define what you do, knowing your audience, how to present yourself in the market, having an online presence, marketing your artwork, networking. Q&A’s
  • Lunch, a home cooked dinner and a pub meal
  • Refreshments including tea and coffee, cakes and nibbles
  • Inspirational walk
  • Option of shared 2 night accommodation including breakfast

Our venue, Sandyholme, is situated on the Jurassic coast in Dorset and is a five-minute walk from the beach. It offers the perfect retreat for our second fluid art event. We will be offering shared accommodation to stay over for the whole two days with meals included. Alternatively, you can book just for the 2 days events without accommodation

The property stands in its own grounds which include a patio, lawn, wooded areas, and a substantial driveway with parking.

This quiet secluded house is owned and ran by the YMCA Bournemouth and by booking this venue the proceeds will be going towards the YMCA. The Bournemouth YMCA deliver a positive impact and help those who find themselves in less fortunate circumstances than ourselves.
